Even in a growing state like Colorado, many people still struggle to achieve stability. Families face rising costs. Workers need pathways to stronger careers. Entrepreneurs need guidance to start or grow businesses. Many individuals lack support navigating health coverage. And youth need safe places to learn, lead, and earn their first job experience.

More than 1 in 9 youth experience economic hardship, and over 345,000 Coloradans remain uninsured. These challenges affect whole households and entire communities.

The WDC exists to close these gaps.

Economic Development

Your support helps adults, entrepreneurs, caregivers, and small business owners build income and stability through business support, mentoring, and pathways like the developing CNA Apprenticeship Program and CNA Cooperative.

Youth Development

WDC prepares young people to become confident leaders with real-world skills.

The Sugary Stop — Youth-Led Social Enterprise
Youth gain experience with leadership, communication, teamwork, conflict resolution, money management, customer service, and entrepreneurship — all while earning Denver minimum-wage stipends.

Youth also learn civic engagement and community leadership.
During the Denver Kids vs. Big Tobacco (Initiative 310) project, youth practiced clear communication, listening skills, and engaging respectfully with diverse groups.

Holistic Health & Community Connection
