WDC connects learning with real opportunities to explore, practice, earn, and lead. Youth development is more than learning information; WDC creates opportunities to discover interests, apply skills in real situations, gain meaningful experience, and grow into responsibility and leadership.
LEARN
Build the Foundation
Youth begin by developing practical knowledge and skills. This may include entrepreneurship, career readiness, financial literacy, communication, leadership, and digital skills. This is not a traditional course catalog—it's a launchpad.
EXPLORE
Discover What Fits
Youth explore diverse interests and pathways before deciding their direction. Examples include careers, entrepreneurship, media and technology, community leadership, public advocacy, and other creative or professional passions.
PRACTICE
Put Skills Into Action
Learning by doing is at our core. Participants put their skills into practice through hands-on projects, teamwork, developing business ideas, media production, community activities, presentations, and solving real-world challenges.
EARN
Build Experience That Has Value
We connect youth with meaningful real-world experiences. When available, these may include paid opportunities, allowing participants to gain practical insights and a competitive edge while building a valuable foundation for their future.

Take Greater Ownership
Leadership is a progression. It’s about communicating ideas, making decisions, taking responsibility, contributing to the community, supporting others, and advocating for meaningful issues as youth take the next essential steps toward their education, careers, or goals.
There isn’t only one path through WDC. Youth may experience these stages through different combinations of: Youth Cohorts, Sugary Stop, Youth Podcast & Media, Internships & Work-Based Learning, Public Advocacy & Community Voice.
