Empowering Girls Through Entrepreneurship

WDC Empowering Girls Through Entrepreneurship (EGTE) is a 7-week program specifically designed for young women in high school who identify as part of communities of color, underserved populations, or other systematically oppressed people. This program provides the basics of building a real business plan, including marketing, financial management, networking and basic operations. Participants will have the opportunity to register their businesses with the Colorado Secretary of State, obtain a City of Aurora sales tax license, and open a business checking account. In addition to basic business concepts, the program also focuses on young women’s empowerment with basic tools managing stress, building self-esteem, and overcoming trauma. EGTE culminates in a pop-up event where participants can actually showcase and sell their products/services to the community.

• Classes are held weekly over 7 week.  Classes are held twice per week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Additionally, participants will receive 5 weeks of post-classroom support. Participants will receive an email to select times that work best for the group.
• Registration is completely free. Participants are asked to commit to attending the full series of classes, and completing an evaluation at the end of the course.
• All participants who successfully complete the course will receive additional benefits provided by our sponsors.
